Thanks for visiting Isla de Muerta. I’m Bloody Bill, your piratical host. Why the site? Simple. Pirates, or at least our stereotypical ideas about them – you know, cannons and parrots and buried treasure and all that stuff of boyhood dreams – are just plain cool.
The site started out as a place to house my pirate dictionary. Over time, other things were added. Hopefully more will be in the future.
While we’re on the subject of the dictionary, let me offer this note about the definitions therein: most of them are mine. A small number were found in public domain-type documents/websites (including Wikipedia and Wiktionary.) I claim no copyright to those. As far as I know, none have been plagiarized from copyrighted sources.
